Christina, your host in Milan

Meet Christina

Hello, I'm Christina. I was born in London to Italian and Spanish parents, and Milan has been my home for more than 20 years. I've been welcoming guests since 2015, and I still get a real thrill when someone tells me my home made their trip.

I care about the details. After booking, you'll receive my digital guest guide, with tips on transport, restaurants, museums and day trips. If you need anything before or during your stay, I'm happy to help.

Unfortunately, guests can't park inside the building gates. You'll find street parking nearby on Viale Sarca, with free white bays and paid blue bays. Blue bays cost €1.20 per hour from 08:00 to 19:00, Monday to Saturday. You can pay at the parking meters, by coins or debit or credit card, or with an app such as MooneyGo or Telepass.

The neighbourhood

The apartment is in a safe, quiet residential area between Bicocca and Ca' Granda, away from the busiest tourist streets but well connected to them. You'll find supermarkets, pharmacies, cafés and local trattorias nearby, along with pizzerias and fish restaurants.

The M5 purple line runs directly to Isola, Porta Garibaldi, Corso Como and San Siro. Change at Zara for the M3 yellow line to Milano Centrale, the Duomo and Montenapoleone. Trams and buses stop close by, and there's a BikeMi bike-sharing station about 4 minutes away on foot.

Nearby, you can see a show at Teatro degli Arcimboldi, discover contemporary art at Pirelli HangarBicocca, shop at Bicocca Village, or go for a run in Parco Nord, one of Milan's largest green spaces. There's also a gym in the basement of the building, available for an extra charge.

A perfect day in Milan

This is the day I'd plan for a friend. Without stops, the walk from Piazza Gae Aulenti to the Duomo is about 3.9 km, or 55 minutes.

  1. Morning: M5 to Garibaldi

Take the M5 from Ca' Granda to Garibaldi, about 15 minutes door to door, then walk through Piazza Gae Aulenti, surrounded by Milan's skyscrapers.

  2. Corso Como and Eataly

Stroll along Corso Como, then stop at Eataly in Piazza XXV Aprile to buy something delicious to take home.

  3. Milanese lunch in Brera

Walk past Largo La Foppa and through Brera to Bauscia at Via dell'Orso 2, for classic Milanese dishes such as risotto and ossobuco. Check opening times and book ahead.

  4. Spiga and Montenapoleone

Continue on foot along Via della Spiga and Via Monte Napoleone, two of Milan's most elegant shopping streets.

  5. Sunset at the Duomo

End in Piazza del Duomo with an aperitivo at Terrazza Duomo 21, looking out at the cathedral spires, or stay on for dinner at The Dome, a rooftop restaurant on the corner of the square. Check opening times and book ahead.

  6. Home by metro

Take the M3 from Duomo to Zara, change to the M5, and you're back at Ca' Granda, ready to rest your feet.

My favourite places in Milan

Arco della Pace

A beautiful arch at the edge of Parco Sempione, perfect for an evening aperitivo.

Colonne di San Lorenzo

Ancient Roman columns, with Piazza Vetra and its park just behind.

Navigli and Darsena

Canals, restaurants and a lively atmosphere, especially at sunset.

Piazza del Duomo

The heart of Milan, and a sight that still impresses, however often you see it.
